…I am a seminarian student. I took the upper beginner communicative Greek course. The course took place online the summer of 2018, and we met weekly for 8 weeks.

I would highly recommend this course. The learning is unique and different from the traditional classroom/textbook approach. The teacher, Jordash, sought to ingrain the language into our heads using a variety of different learning techniques and approaches, from physical action, to talking and listening, With his encouragement, help, and guidance, I ended those 8 weeks with a different handle on the language than I had before; I could actually speak and listen to Greek. Also, the whole process was great fun, because a great deal of time was spent acting out scenarios, watching others act them out, and laughing... I would highly encourage others both to try this method if they wished to learn Greek or grasp the language better in their biblical studies and to have Jordash as their teacher. Awesome program!

I am so thankful to have experienced Jordash's instruction in Greek. The method is effective and prompts a joy and excitement about the process that makes it a delight to continue to dig deeper.

In college I studied Classical Greek for two years and afterwards Biblical Greek. The typical grammar-translation method left me frustrated and feeling like I could never get enough hours to become truly fluent. I could study to pass exams – and even score well on them – but I never seemed to be getting closer to reading intuitively. Then I discovered Koine Greek was being taught AS A LIVING LANGUAGE. It was a game changer! I loved every minute of my Koine classes with Jordash (Ἰσοκράτης) and the team he was teaching with in 2009. I have never looked back. Over the next years, I took all the intensives I could and also several online courses taught by Jordash.

Jordash is remarkably gifted at instruction, and also very sensitive to the needs of each student. It takes a high level of knowledge and fluency to do what he does, and make it look and feel so effortless. I cannot recommend anyone more highly than Jordash. You won’t regret the immersive experience or the knowledge you acquire – it won’t be without effort, but it will be fun and entirely worth it!

I took the 30 week beginner’s Greek course in Victoria, BC (winter 2018-2019). After an intro class, which was done in all Greek, I was a little unsure if this was right for me, but since I was in a seminary program that had few language requirements I thought it best to sign up anyway. I’m extremely pleased with the results.

To my surprise hearing Greek as the language of instruction helped instead of hindered my progress. That, coupled with worksheets and online videos, made it possible to consolidate all the foreign information coming in. I’m also convinced Jordash was a huge reason for this. His vivaciousness, knowledge, patience, and love of the Greek language was infectious for our class… I’ll be forever grateful for this…

Jordash inspired a love for Greek in me I didn’t know would be possible, likely because other methods of learning languages I’d encountered convinced me languages just weren’t for me. I’d highly recommend this course for anyone looking to learn Koine Greek in a fun, creative, and intellectually challenging environment.
